05/05/15

It's been a long time since I've blogged. I have been working out now for the last few months and surfing a lot. On average, I get in the water about twice a week and I am really happy with how my surfing is progressing. When I got back to working out a few months ago, I was just doing some pushups and running. I was getting my body ready to start P90X. Now, I am on day 24 (approximately) of P90X. I told myself that I had to finally finish P90X before I could do something new. Even though P90X is not the kind of workout that I want to do, I feel like it will give me a decent foundation to begin with the gymnastics training.

After I finish P90X, I will begin gymnastics training. I recently found Matt Walker on Youtube. He laid out a beginners gymnastics program that looks like it will fit the bill. Here's a link:

I had been a fan of his brother, Lachlan's videos for a while but, like many other gymnastics videos, on Youtube, Lachlan's videos are above my level of fitness. I needed something more basic / beginner oriented. Matt's videos seem perfect.

So, today, I just finished Plyometrics in P90X. I *should* have about 66 days left. That would have me ending on July 10th. I really need to keep to that schedule because my goal is to be able to tuck planche before our camping trip at the end of Sept. We will see.
